Working
with medium and large negative sizes, the goal is a print rich in
detail, with full tonality and little if any visible grain.
Pleasing overall
composition complements detailed content, producing a print that
appeals to the viewer from accross the room and also rewards closer
examination. Ample negative size allows large prints suited to display at home or office. Standard sizes range up to 16x20 inches, mounted typically in 24x30 inch mats. Larger sizes are available to order. |
| Classic Materials | Images
are captured on black and white film, printed on classic fiber-based
silver gelatin paper. Traditional chemical processing stresses
long-term stability of prints, including thorough fixing, washing,
and toning with selenium. Barring exposure to direct sunllight or
chemical fumes, these B&W prints are expected to last over 100
years. Selenium toning protects silver grains that form the image from air pollution and reduuces the fading effect of bright light. Toning may be light, which doesn't create a noticable color change but may "warm" the neutral black tone of the base paper. Heavier toning can turn the image a distinct brownish color sometimes seen in historical prints. Printes are delivered mounted on acid-free materials of the highest quality. Framing, matting, and glazing of comperable quality are available to order. |
| Hand-Crafted Artworks | The
photographer creates every print by hand, personally handling
every processing step from taking the picture tthrough
devloping film to enlarging the print. He supervises
mounting and framing to ensuure highest quality. |
